A recent episode of Benny Blanco’s podcast revealed a story that goes back several years before his relationship with Selena Gomez began. During the conversation, Blanco shared that his mother once told him he should marry Gomez after meeting her while they were working together on a music video in 2019.
At the time, Blanco was in another relationship, and he said the idea seemed unlikely. Even so, he remembered always leaving his conversations with Gomez, thinking she was one of the kindest and most genuine people he had met. He added that a former girlfriend later reminded him how often he spoke positively about Gomez.
Guest Aaron Paul joked that Blanco’s mother had planted the idea long before the couple got together, and Blanco agreed with the comment. Looking back, he said his mother recognized something special about Gomez years before their romance started.
The discussion also reflected on the couple’s September 2025 wedding. Blanco described Gomez as his best friend and recalled feeling emotional as he watched her walk down the aisle, calling it one of the most meaningful moments of his life.
